What We Do

The WAIT team is a group of teens that use their talents to teach about HIV and AIDS and to create positive solutions.  They are all ages from 12 to 19, and have decided to take the most important step to preventing HIV by becoming abstinent.  The WAIT team uses acting, singing, music and dancing to convey the message. We believe that “HIV Stops With Me” and we share that belief with others, mainly in communities, churches and schools.

WAIT activities:

  • Educational slide on HIV/AIDS
  • Speakers with personal experience of HIV and AIDS
  • Artistic and creative performances
  • Peer Educator Training
  • Fundraising
  • Educational Travel to other provinces and nations
  • Partnering with NGOs to bring goods and information to other populations.

WAIT's Three Development Levels

Members learn the skit and perform it, and usually perform in other acts like, singing dancing, break dance, etc. Members must also be abstinent, non-dating and should participate in non-performing responsibilities (care for equipment, cleaning, fundraising, etc.) Members at this stage can perform in the local areas, learn and develop their talents etc. Part of this training is a thorough training in HIV/AIDS information and learn why abstinence and lifetime partnership are vital. ««  Read More  »»
