The essence of WAIT is parent/child unity, and unity within each family. Parents are necessary at every step of WAIT activity. Parents are not only important to lead fundraising or arrange food, but they are the natural guides for the internal growth of the team. Having a parent present and involved at each meeting or event is vital in order to keep the right standard of heart among all youth. Also, parents are needed to address safety issues.
Parents’ wisdom is needed in overcoming struggles or misunderstandings. Parents’ examples are needed, to model the true behavior desired for the young people. Parents are workers, with WAIT, not bystanders. Parents should see themselves as the vital and most important person in the child’s life, and should be active in helping the child live an abstinent lifestyle, deal with challenges, take on responsibilities, or develop skills and talents.
Also, parents must model love for others by active service to all the kids, not only their own. «« Next »»
